2Quiz provides gamers with the excitement of gambling without the associated legal and social issues. Users play in real time, and change or review their answers at pre-determined points during the event, such as half time in Football or Rugby matches, a Cricket tea break or between Horse races.
Participants either pay to play, or games can be sponsored, with "splash screen" branding prominent when users select games and during synchronisation. Prizes can be based on top score, scores over a certain amount, or any combination. Entrants receive points for correct answers based on questions set both before and during an Event, and prizes can be won against any criteria decided by the game originator or sponsor - there could be one winner, right through to everyone wins, dependent on the desired aims of the game.
2Quiz combines the best elements of compelling gaming:
Play and compete against the system
Play and compete against friends and family (mini local leagues)
Play and compete against wider groups (from local bar to national league)
Low Cost entry to game – easy "instant purchase" decision
Prizes for skilful play
High propensity for multiple plays
Answer questions "offline" but against timer – keeping costs to a minimum
In a typical user scenario, a group of friends agree to play against each other based on a UK Premiership Football match. They agree to play the game and each pay £1.50 to take part. The night before the match they each receive a set of 10 multiple choice questions on their phones, asking them what, in their judgment will happen in the 1st half of the game.
Before kick off they must have answered this first set of questions. They perhaps then meet up to watch the match live in a bar. At half time the gamers are scored on their first half answers and are presented with new questions for the 2nd half, based on what transpired in the first 45 minutes. They must answer before the second half commences. At the end of the match they receive their final score out of a possible, say 150 points, and can see how the others in their mini-league have fared, and/or how they performed against all other players from the chain of bars they have met in, or everyone in the World that played (via the 2Quiz Website) Scores can even be displayed on Plasma Screens in the bar, with real time results available. The same principles can be applied to any event where there is a suitable break in proceedings, or sufficient length to allow "segments" to be allocated, such as as Formula 1.
2Quiz has mass-market appeal, and is a great vehicle for Companies and Clubs to reach targeted audiences. Examples of applications are:
